2nd Annual Campfire Jamboree at Camp Wandawega

September 2022 saw the triumphant return of our beloved Stock Campfire Jamboree at Camp Wandawega. What was intended to be an annual event began in 2019, and saw a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, so needless to say we were more than ready for another relaxing culinary retreat in Elkhorn, WI. 
When campers arrived on Monday afternoon, they were greeted with a welcome cocktail from Lily Wang and Joe Briglio of Nine Bar.
Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings tunes set the tone via an insane speaker setup compliments of Pineapple Audio, the leaders in hospitality audio.
The Campfire Jamboree is an opportunity for us at Stock to flex our merch muscles. This year’s goodie bags consisted of custom duffel bags featuring Argentine patterns inspired by our main sponsor, wine company Terrazas de los Andes.
Inside campers were provided:
  • -Argentine patterned blankets with leather carrier
  • -Vintage-style printed bandana
  • -Custom Frisbee
  • -Camp hat
  • -Campfire Jamboree Themed Hydro Flask
  • -Camp Wandawega welcome bags with camp-related provisions 
Guests were encouraged to arrange personal bouquets of fresh-picked wildflowers before being shown to their quarters.
As with the original event, we teamed up with chef friend John Manion of El Che to assemble a star-studded list of chefs to cook the meals outdoors over open flame. The first night’s dinner was prepared by Sahil Sethi and his wife Ankita of Rooh. 
After dinner, the crowd split between the campfire and The Lodge, where musical guests The Cabin Boys did an acoustic set of originals and covers. Our very own Jim Snediker even contributed a solo verse of The Weight by The Band (audio available upon request)!
The next morning, campers made their way to The Welcome Cabin for a coffee or espresso compliments of Metric Coffee. 
Mindy Segal and Tony Selna provided an extraordinary breakfast of pastries, bagels, and insanely delicious sausage and egg bialys.
Bellies full, campers enjoyed activity time on the grounds including: swimming, archery, field sports, and hiking. 
Coolers of Hopewell beer were scattered throughout the property to wet any whistle in need.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Zaragoza and Monteverde’s Bailey Sullivan were hard at work preparing a lunch of al pastor tacos, elotes, spiced lamb ribs, and a prosciutto, melon, and burrata salad.
Leisure activities commenced again post-lunch with folks enjoying every corner of the 25-acre campground. Foxtrot kept the Cedar Tavern Camper full stocked for campers scavenging for munchies. 
Night 2’s dinner saw Meatmaster John Manion of El Che at the helm along with Todd Stein of Ballyhoo Hospitality. Guests were treated to Manion’s signature tomahawk steaks, compliments of Whittingham Meats, paired with Terrazas de los Andes wines and a plethora of sides. 
After dinner, The Cabin Boys played a campfire set under the stars before campers turned in for the night.
