Since 2013, we've leveraged our world class design and manufacturing capabilities to become the outfitter of choice for some of the finest hospitality establishments in the country. We filmed this video at some our favorite partner spots - take a look, and give us a shout if you're looking to outfit your staff or team.
Our latest installment of At Work features a luminary of the Chicago restaurant scene, John Manion. A trailblazing chef bringing Brazilian and Argentinian flavors to Chicago, while also serving as a pioneer in the now-scorching hot Fulton Market district. John's story is interesting, his experiences well rounded, and his answers insightful and entertaining. It was truly a pleasure speaking with him, and we hope you enjoy.
At Stock we use time-tested methods of production and appreciate the fine details that make a garment built to last. For our At Work series, we focus on like-minded companies and individuals who don’t do things the expedient way, but the right way. This time, we’re featuring a business down the street from our store, Metric Coffee. Started in 2013, the company quickly gained acclaim for their delicious coffee--Chicago Magazine’s “Best Espresso” in 2017--and shop, which ZAGAT, Eater and Roast Magazine have featured. We sat down with owners Darko and Xavier to hear more about where they’ve been and where they’re headed.
Recently, we stopped by one of our favorite spots in town, Hopewell Brewing Company, to shoot some photos and chat with the founders. Jonathan Fritz, co-founder, distribution dynamo, and sometime star of Netflix's "Easy" was kind enough to hang out and give us a peek behind the curtain.
The Chicago Athletic Association hotel was built in time for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, and was brilliantly re-imagined in 2015 to include the James Beard Award winning Cherry Circle Room, Cindy's, and Game Room. We made sure the staff was outfitted accordingly.
We recently had the honor of designing and manufacturing uniforms for the staff of the beautiful new Soho House Chicago. The entire collection was conceived and produced from the ground up, exclusively for the staff of the House. The men's uniforms, consisting of chambray club collar shirts, twill double-breasted vests, corduroy bow ties and wool herringbones trousers, were designed to reflect the casual vibe and refined English heritage of Soho House. The project began with a walk-thru of the raw space at 113 N Green St. The club was still under construction, but the robust decor and buildout were apparent throughout. Once we surveyed the space and discussed creative direction with the management we had a pretty good idea of...
Our favorite thing to do at Stock is work with other awesome companies that we admire. When we heard Land and Sea Dept., the team behind Longman & Eagle and Parson's Chicken & Fish, was working on a new concept that needed aprons- we jumped at the opportunity. The criteria was simple: make a high-quality apron that's functional and attractive. When you're designing with functionality in mind, it's easy to over-design. To avoid unnecessary bells and whistles, we met with the L&S team to discuss how the aprons would be worn, what function they'd serve, and with what tools. The next step was sourcing, development, and sampling. The Stock x Thank You. aprons feature a box-stitched utility strap across the chest and a 5-compartment pocket below...
